ROWING.
N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. (By “’Outrigger.") When the amateur rowing championships of New Zealand are decided on the Waikato River at Hamilton on Anniversary Day, January 29,- the Auckland province will have the honour of controlling the blue riband of the pastime for the first occasion within twelve years. While the provincial body will be in charge, the championship will bn controlled by the Regatta Committee in Hamilton. The latter ciuite recognise that their task is no light one, but they are a band of active workers, and with the noted enthusiasm of members of the local club in eo-opcratlon no stone will be left unturned and no avenue undisturbed which is going to contribute to the success of ihc llxture. Hamilton lias the opportunity of establishing itself as a centre to control the biggest rowing programme which is put on in this country, and we can rest assured that such a claim will lie permanently and effectively sealed for good result on Anniversary Day. The regatta is an item which warrants the support of town and country, and it is to be booed that everyone will combine to-
wards making (he day a red-letter one In the history of Hamilton and ttie Waikato River.
