ARAPUNI WORKS.
By Telegraph—Special to Tim.es. WELLINGTON, Friday. "Now is the time for the Micrister. to take steps to provide the accessary provisions for the pres-ecvataoa of law and order at Arapuni," said Mr F. F. Hockly (Rotorua) in 'urging the Minister of Justice (Hon, C. J. Parr) in the House of ReproeeaafcLtives to-day to provide an additional policeman in the locality, in. view of the great influx of men when thehydro scheme gels properly -under way. Mr W. E. Parry (Auckland Central) : Surely they are not thai wild up that way? Mr Hockly: I am not saying they are wild or will be wild, but it seems to be common sense to expeot that with a sudden influx of about 1400 men some increase in the police is necessary. There will be many men who are looking for work, and pos-/ sibly some of those who cannot get. employment will be driven- to desperation- It is necessary to consider, these things. ;
