REBELLIOUS TRIBESMEN ACTIVE. SEVERE FIGHTING REPORTED. (Australian ind N.Z. Cable Assn.) DELHI, Sept. 18. Severe fighting has occurred in the Khost district, Afghanistan, between the troops of the Ameer and the rebel tribesmen. The hostilities have resulted in the defeat of the rebels, 1300 of whom have been killed. The Royalist leader, General Abdul Hamil, and a considerable number of his followers fell. A second engagement drove the rebels to the hills. A leading Afghan official from Kabul has arrived with an offer of generous tertns to the insurrectionists on condition that they lay down their arms and submit.
