SENSATION IN HOSPITAL.
PATIENT USES RAZOR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. WAIHI, Friday. Somewhat of a senr.ation was caused in the Waihi Public Hospital last night when an inmate, of the institution named Richard Farrands, a wellknown resident of the town, inflicted serious injury to himself by cutting his left wrist wilh a razor. The wound is a deep one, and, had not his action been quickly observed it would probably have proved fatal. Farrands' condition is serious. Recently he met with an accident, in a mine, falling down a winze, and it is thought this somewhat affected his mind as he had been suffering from delusions. Farrands is a married man with a wife and young children. Farrands' delusions iook the shape of imaginary domestic troubles and that lie was beinir chased by "a man :n a red motor car.*' II" was under the impression that once he was in hospital he would be free from molestation. The police are taking the necessary steps to have the man observed whilst he remains in hospital.
