Mr R. Semple, of Wellington, is visiting Hamilton. Mr N. A. Ghing, of Auckland* formerly of Hamilton, is in town for ai few days. A Sydney message reports the death of Professor H. G. Smith, a prominent scientist. Mr T. W. Rhodes, MJP* for Thames, is in Hamilton, and is staying at the Hotel Northland. Mr Albert Mallinson, F.T.G.L., Id conducting the Trinity College, London, examinations. He is staying at the Grand Central. Mr R. F. Sorenson, of Hastings, who is on a visit to Hamilton, has decided to take up hia' permanent residence here. His Worship the Mayor (Mr J» R. Fow) and Mr E. Reeves, electrical engineer, are visiting Christohurch oh business connected with the Borough of Hamilton. The following are gazetted as trustees of the Harapepe Rabbit District: Messrs J. M. Corcoran, H. Dyer, G. O. R.' Finn, E. H. James, and E. H. Grey. A Paris message states that the well-known author M. Anatole France is seriously ill at Tours. He only leaves his bed for half an hour daily, and remains very depressed. Among the guests at the Hotel Northland are Mr A. Chapman* Town Clerk of Thames, and Messrs W. E. L. Walton (Thames), J. G. Miller (Thames), and H. Meames (Auckland).
