LAWN TENNIS.
MATANGI CLUB. There was a very poor attendance at the annual meeting compared with previous years. The secretary presented the annual report and balancesheet for last season's working (already published). These were confirmed and adopted as read. Mr H. E. Pacey was unanimously re-elected patron and Mr C. H. Dunford president. The following vicepresidents were also re-elected: Messrs J. Murray, Mercer, Ratcliffe, Goodwin, Bryant, Marychurch, Lee Martin, T. Taylor, T. Shaw, Tomlinson, Randle, Cranston and Pretty. The following comprise the committee elected: Mesdames Robinson and McKenzie, Miss Martin, Messrs Randle, Phillipps, and C. Dunford, junr.
Miss Martin, the retiring: secretary, did not wish to be re-elected, and Miss D. Dunford was elected. Miss Martin was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the good work she had done during the three years she was secretary.
The official opening was fixed for Saturday, October 4, Mr J. A. Young, M.P., to be asked to perform the ceremony.
