Maukoro deviation: Proposals can now be forwarded to the Department for the authority to carry but portion of this work. Piako River bridge, Maukoro: Plans for this work arc practically completed. Tahuna-Morrinsville road culvert: I have secured a pile-driving outfit, and shall land same on the site as soon as the outfit is put in order. Hinton's quarry l The foundations for crusher, motor and shafting are being made ready; the new. crusher is Jo land in Auckland on tlie 27th. Shafting, belting and gear must now be procured lo be ready as soon as possible. Kiwitahi - Morrinsvillc road metalling: A good stack .of metal is ready at the stalion. The rate of metal supply by rail is quite inadequate lo carry out the necessary works. Morrinsville-Kereonc road: About 160 yards of metal or good shingle is required for this road. Walton-Kiwitahi road:. The contract for metalling is proceeding as' fast as metal arrives; lho rnetal placed on 'ho road is being coated with shingle. Stanley road formation: Metalling or this section will be gone oh. with; at times the crusher cannot bo kept going when carting at long distances. Waiorongomai quarry: A considerable amount of stripping was carried out on days that water was available. There is a profit of over £IBO for the month. Waiorongomai Mines tramline tunnel: A large slip has come during the recent Hoods and completely blocked the tunnel and line. I am making arrangements to procure some trees from Annandale for piles for Mangaiti bridge work.- • -
