MODERN FASHIONS.
The crcpe-de-chine impkne sleeves strike a new note in this frock of French cloth. Of the figured fabric take 1J yards; of the plain 2 yards. The wrap-around mode shown is an advance style, its sole fastening- being 1 a dome under the hand-made chou of black ribbon. The lady wears a turban, for which paper patterns are pro. curable, only a yard being required. FASHION GLEANINGS. The cloak frock is the latest innovation in Paris. A Drecoll model, depicted in the "Gentlewoman," is an elegant specimen, designed in black satin. The graduated three-quartor length cape is cut in a circidar shape and edged blacK fox, and attached to a simply cut sleeveless frock, also of black satin. The slim line is sttil 1 chosen by the Parisienne for all functions, and is also apparent in the new wrap coats shown in "Eve." Charmingly useful garments arc designed to serve two purposes—winter wraps for street wear or for evening functions. All are intended to produce the "slimming" effect so desirable. A marine blue velvet wrap is enriched with fur and embroidery, the latter cleverly introduced in the lower part in several sharp points. The new matalasse cloth is employed a good deal for wrap-coats, as it possesses the subtlety so attractive in garments of this type. T=3T
