Poultrymen have been complaining for some time tnat the high prices charged for fowl wiieat have been pressing heavily upon those engaged in the industry. The Minister of Agriculture, Hon. W. Nosworthy, has accordingly been asked to permit the importation of fowl wheat from overseas. The Minister states that he is prepared to consider this proposal favourably. lie is now examining the facts of the position. In the event of the importation of such wheat being allowed it will be distributed mainly in the North Island, and to those engaged in the poultry Industry only.
