FIGHT IN A THEATRE.
GERMAN COMMUNISTS' PLAY. AROUSES NATIONALISTS* IRE. FORTY ARRESTS MADE. {Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received Jan. 21, 12.30 p.m. LONDON, January; 20. The Times' Berlin correspondent says there were disorderly scenes -in the State theatre at Dresden on the occasion of the first performance of Ernest Toller's tragedy of Ginkerman. Toller, who is a Communist, was sentenced to a lengthy terms of imprisonment for .participating in the Soviet rising at Munich in 1919, when lie acted as one of the revolutonary leaders. Several blocks of theatre seats which were booked in advance, were occupied by Nationalists, who were specially sent lo howl down the play, which they did. The poliee were called in and a free fight followed. Forty arrests were made. The Nationalists are asking the Government to prevent the reproduction of the play on the grounds that it is calculated to appeal to the lowest instincts and to outrage the religious feelings of every Nationalist.
