It is the intention of Armour ana Co., of Australasia, Ltd., to discontinue the purchase of live stock in tht, Dominion from farmers either on i,ne auction markets or privately. The company will confine its operations in meat to the acquisition and disposal of carcases in the various freezing works. This radical change in policy has meant the release of the large buying organisation which the company has built in the few years it has operated directly in the Dominion. Obvious ly the company is of opinion, writes a (Jhristchurch correspondent, that there is too much competition on th 3 stock markets already, and that it Is not worth its while to lay out hugr, capital in operations promising a scant return and. some considerable, risk.
