WOOD-BORING PESTS.
; A GOVERNMENT WARNING. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON. Friday. The Public Works Department has Issued two circulars to its engineers and to local bodies, drawing attention to the possible risk to New Zealand by the introduction of Australian wood-boring pests through the medium of hardwood timbers imported to the country. The methods by which the presence of these destructive insects may be detected are set out, and the importance of immediately burning all loose bark in which they lurk is stressed.
