RINDERPEST OUTBREAK.
THE POSITION SERIOUS.
United Press Association. Received November 26, 11.30 a.m PERTH, November 26. The Chief Inspector of Stock, Mr Weir, says the rinderpest position is very serious. It started with a. bull and a couple of heifers, which were confined in a yard at a dairy for a considerable time. Diagnosis revealed features of rinderpest, but doubt has been caused for a time by the absensc of ulceration of the stomach, which is characteristic of the disease.
EMBARGO IN QUEENSLAND. Received November, 26, II a.m. BRISBANE, November 26. Mr Gillies issued an order prohibiting the introduction of stock, carcases, fodder, or any fittings into Queensland from West Australia, in view' of the rinderpest outbreak.
OFFICERS LEAVE FOR PERTH. Received November 26, 9 a.m. MELBOURNE, November 26. The chief veterinary officer of VicMr Robertson, and Professor Woodruffe, of Melbourne University, left fop Perth to assist in the campaign against tho rinderpest outbreak.. ..
