WOOL SALES.

FIRST SALE IN AUCKLAND. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co. report the first Auckland wool sale for this season was held on Saturday, and was' a remarkably good sale. Buyers were present, representing Bradford, Italy, America, Germany, local mills and local and outside scourers. Prices were as follows: —Fine crossbred: Super 14 Ad to 173 d, average 12d to 13Ad; inferior, lid to 12d. Medium crossbred: Super 12Ad to lad, average UAd to 12Ad; inferior lOd to lid. Coarse crossbred: Super 11 Ad to 12Ad, average lOd to llAd; inferior 93d to lOd. Low crossbred, average 9Ad to lOd; inferior 9Ad. Hogget: Fine 16d to 17d, medium lb 3d to 16d, coarse lid to 15Ad, low 93d to 13d. Lambs: Fine 15Ad to 183 d, medium 12d to 14d, seedy to inferior 7d to 83d. Bellies and pieces: Crossbred, good to super 12d to 12Ad, low to medium OAd to 93d. Crutchings: Medium to good 7d to 83d, inferior and seedy 5d to 6-Ad. Locks, crossbreds 4Ad to sd, average approximately 2d better than February sale.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report on the wool sale held in Auckland on Saturday:—Of the total offering of 2268 bales in the company’s hands a good proportion came from the Waikato and King Country, and practically the whole of this was disposed of under the hammer at most satisfactory prices. The whole of the wool was much brighter and in better condition than has ever been seen in Auckland before. The following are some of the best prices realised for lines from this district: L J underlined, 36 bales llomney ewe, 14Ad; A J over Flattop, 5 bales Romney hogget, 163 d; S and M over Tc Kuiti, 3 bales Crossbred hogget, lbd; 11 P over M, S bales fine Crossbred, 14. yd; Mangatangi, 16 bales Crossbred, 13Ad; 0, 6 bales Crossbred hogget, 13yd; A J C in diamond over Ahuroa, 13 bales Romney, 143 d.
