A judgment debtor who was' under examination at the Dannevirke Court told counsel that he had been unable to pay the debt as he had heavy lawyer's expenses to meet in a Supreme Court action. "Well, the lawyer could have waited, they are usually the last to be paid," replied counsel. When the magistrate had marie an order (relates the Evening News) the same counsel rose and gravely asked for solicitor's fees.
