By special request, the provisions of the Dairy Control Act were explained to the dairy suppliers of East Tamaki on Friday night by Mr S. Lye.' When the meeting opened Mr Smith, one of the directors, stated that he had invited Mr Leonard, a representative of •proprietary interests, and a strong opponent to the measure, also to be present and put the opposition side of the case.

Both gentlemen addressed the meeting, and a very interesting debate developed, following which a large number of questions were answered by Mr Lye. At the conclusion of the meeting the following resolution was carried amidst applause: "We, the dairy producers of the Tamaki district, thank Mr Lye for his able address, and, further, *wo pledge ourselves to do all in our power to further the interests Of dairy control.

Opposition criticism of the Dairy Control Act in addresses delivered by Messrs J. Hine and E. Maxwell met with a hostile reception from Eltham supporters of the measure. A vote of thanks only was passed to the speakers.
