NO SUNDAY BOWLS.

ALBURY CLUB’S DECISION (United Press Association.) Received October G, 11.5 a.m. SYDNEY, October. 6. The Albury Bowling- Club has decided against Sunday play. The supporters of the innovation contended that it would increase the club’s membership, and the quiet character of the game would not offend the religious suscepitibilities of the community. The opposition was led by a vicepresident, who declared, that he would be obliged to consider whether he could continue membership if the club adopts Sunday playing, as it would be a vicious example to the community if influential townmen, who were fathers of families, made the serious departure of ignoring the religious aspect of the Sabbath. Other speakers contended that many members would be compelled to resign, if the club took action which would offend their religious scruples. In face of the strong opposition, the supporters withdrew their motion.
