GOODWILL AND CIVIL SANITY

At Dublin, the Governor-General (MiTimothy M. Ilealy, K.C.), addressing a joint meeting of. the Dail and the Senale, said there was a general hope and prayer that the necessity of seeking extraordinary powers for the safety and good order of the State would disappear. With the return of goodwill and civil sanity it might he compatible with security to release ihe majority of prisoners. The Governor-General concluded by stating Unit the losics and devastation wantonly inflicted on the country dictated a policy of rigid economy everywhere in the national life. A proposal would be submilted to provide repayment of the moneys borrowed at homo and abroad for national purposes.
