The Board of 'Trade Committee inquiring into ihe loss of the steamer El Kahira, found that the ship was sent, lo sea in an unscaworthy condition and that the responsibility .rested upon Olivier, managing director, and Captain Stodbart, marine superintendent. Olivier was fined 200 guineas. The committee also commented upon the negligence of the Board of Trade’s deputy-shipping superintendent in issuing a certificate without first communicating with the proper authorities.
