Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. . NEW YORK, October 2. Addressing the annual convention of the American Federation of Labour at ' Portland, Mr Gompers urged the abolition of child labour. In attaoking' the < "Reds," he declared that organised Labour has no place for Communist theories. Speaking of the efforts of the big industrialists to force down labour conditions by the so-called open shop, he said: 'T am not an advocate of strikes or strife, but any man who will pot resist such conditions is a coward." ; . - • • •
