At a meeting of dairy farmers held at Te Awamutu recently, in support of the Dairy Produce Export Control Act, the opponents of the sohemc claimed that they had not had an opportunity of putting their side of the case before the dairy farmers. Mr A. J. Sinclair, acting manager of»thc New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, immediately challenged the opponents to a' debate to be held at Te Awamutu, the only stipulation being that his opponent should be a recognised leader of the opposition movement. This challenge has been accepted by Mr P. H. Leonard, acting on behalf of several small companies opposing the scheme. Mr Leonard intimates that either Mr Maxwell, of Opunake, or Mr Masters, M.P., will attend. Mr Sinclair has replied that lie i s willing to meet either of these gentlemen.
