At least one married woman has a strange idea of her responsibilities. At Wanganui last week Mr Barton S.M., was called upon to listen to the complaint of a married woman that her husband was not supporting her. In the course of evidence it transpired that the wife left her husband's house some three years ago, talcing her' one child with her. Shortly afterwards she sued for maintenance, but was quite unable to satisfy the Court that . she had any reasonable grounds for leaving her husband.' Since then she appears to have brought a ; fresh case every time a fresh Magistrate has been on the Bench (reports the "Herald"). This was her fifth attempt, and it proved no more successful than previous ones. The husband is now wondering what can be done to prevent this perpetual litigation.
