MAIN HIGHWAYS.
OPERATIONS OF THE ACT.

The Main Highways Board decided to divide the Dominion into 18 highways districts for the purposes of administering the Main Highways Act. The North Island districts arc:—
No. 1: Mangonui, llokianga, Bay of Islands, Whangarpa, Hobson, Whangarei, Otamatea, Rodney, Waitcmata, and Eden Counties.
No. 2: Manakau, Franklin, Waikato, Raglan, Waipa, Coromandel, Thames, Hauraki, Ohinemuri, Piako, and Matamata. '
No. 3: Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane, Opotiki, and Taupo. No. 4: Matakoa, Waiapu, Uawa, Walkohu, and Cook. No. 5: Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, Waipawa, Waipukurau ,Patangata, Danncvlrke, Weber, and Woodville.
No. G: Waltomo, Taumarunui, Ohura, Kaitieke, ICawhia, and Otorohanga. No. 7: Clifton, Whangamomona, Taranaki, Inglewood, Egmont, Stratford, Waimate West, Eltham, and llawera.
No. 8: Patea, Waiototara, Waimarlno, Wanganui, and Rangitikei. No. 9: Kiwitea, Pohangina, Oroua, Kauranga, Manawatu, Horowhenua, I-lutt and Makara. No. 10: Pahiatua, Akitio, Eketahuna, Mauriccvillc, Castlcpoint, Masterton, Wairarapa, Featherston.
