Mr C. E. MacMillan, M.P. for Tauranga, was in Hamilton, to-day. The death is announced from Dunedin of Dr. Bertrand 1 de Latour, aged 73.
Mr J. M. Campbell, Morrinsville, has passed his examination for a surveyor’s license.
Mr 11. E. Holland, M.P., Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, who spent the week-end in Hamilton, left to-day for Te Ivultl.
Mr W. H. Hesseltine has been appointed returning officer to conduct the first election of the Kiwitea Rabbit Board.
Rev. F. Harty, vicar of St. George's, Frankton, left by the mid-day express to-day for Auckland, to attend the Hickson Mission. He expects to return to Hamilton to-morrow night. Mr N. IR. Mackenzie, of Hamilton, Inspector of Schools under the Education Department, who returned recently from an official visit to Canada and America, will leave to-night on a visit 'to Wellington and Nelson. Mr J. Binns, of the staff of the Waikato Times, who has severed his - connection with that paper, was entertained by a large gathering of friends on Saturday evening. Mr G. Buckland occupied the chair, and occasion was taken by several speakers to refer to the many good qualities of the guest, and to wish him every success in Sydney, to which city Mr Binns is departing. Mr Binns will leave Auckland by the outgoing steamer on Friday.- /
