PATERANGI.
Dairying. A general meeting of the suppliers of the Paterangi creamery and casein factory was held on Wednesday night last in the old hall, Paterangi. Mr Spiers, chairman of the committee, said the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the balance-sheet, and business connected with casein and the factory in general. The balance-sheet was read ana after a little discussion was approved
of. Air Spiers remarked that it was regrettable that -so many of the suppliers were absent from this, their annual meeting, which was of so much, importance to -them. Casein business could not he discussed thoroughly owing to their non-attendance. In regard to the drainage of -the factory it was decided that all suppliers to casein be asked to remove whey, to prevent any going down the dram, and * so avoid the obnoxious smell that was experienced last summer-. A suggestion was made by the manager that a drain be cut from the adjoining property to the factory drain, and so enable the washing to get away. . After further consideration, it was proposed by Mr E. T Hancock, seconded by Mr Martin, that a recommendation he made to the N.Z Co-op. Dairy Co. -to have a drain out as the manager suggested. It was also recommended that tne N.Z. Co-op. Dairy Co. send an official out occasionally to take a check sample of all suppliers' milk for analysis of With regard to the receiving of milk at the stage, it was decided -the factory be open from C. 30 a.m. until b. 30. a.m„ after that time factory -to be closed to enable the cream waggon to leave on time.
