BURGLARY AT WHAKATANE. By Telegraph. — Press Association. WHAKATANE, Thursday. The Borough Council Chambers were burglariously entered during the ■night and the strong-room blown open, £B7 in cash being taken. Cheques were left in the cash-box. An attempt to open the inside safe failed. The burglars obtained gelignite from a magazine at the Council's quarry.
