DAIRY PRODUCE POOL.
BILL 1 TO BE BROUGHT DOWN. BROKEN drawer incident. UNPLEASANT MYSTERY RECALLED Bv Telegraph.—Special to Times. WELLINGTON, Friday. An echo of an unpleasant incident that occurred last session in Parliament was expressed in the House of Representatives this afternoon. Hon. W. F. Massey, in reply to a question by Mr J. A. Hanan (Invercargill) was giving a list of Bills which he proposes to bring down during the remainder of the session, when Mr R. Masters (Stratford) interposed to ask about the Dairy Produce Control Bill. Mr Massey said he would certainly bring down the Bill as he had promised. Air S. G. Smith (Taranaki): You want to break the promise.
Mr Massey: No, and I hope there will be no broken boxes this time. Somebody should have got six months for what happened before. I would have given him a year or two if I had had my way." The incident referred to by Mr Massey related to Mr R. Masters being given a copy of the evidence given before the committee regarding the Dairy Control Bill in order that he could see the evidence of a certain witness. Mr Masters stated he locked it in the drawer of his table, and when he arrived next day the drawer had been rifled and there was no sign of the evidence. The mystery -has' so far remained unrevealed.
