RECORDS FOR JULY.

The following are the records of rainfall for July as recorded at the stations specified:—

Hamilton (Dr. Douglas, Recorder): Total fall, 5.46 inches on 14 days. The highest registration (1 inch) was on the SWi.

Morrinsville (Dr. G. E. Seville) : Total fall, 4.49 inches on 8 days. Maximum fall, 1.59 inches on the sth. In July, 1922, 2.65 inches on 8 days; 1921, 2.83 inohes on 11 days; 1920, 1.38 inches on 6 days; in July, 1919, 4.67 inches on 18 days; in July, 1918, 5.60 on 23 days; 1917, 4.41' on 23 days; 1916, 3.37 on 14 days; 1915, 4.79 on 13 day's. In spite of rumours that July, 1923, was the "wettest" on record, the above figures prove the contrary.

Waharoa (Mr J. S. Doull). —Total rainfall, 5.14 inches on. 20 days; greatest 'fall on 4th, £.14 inches. (Rainfall July, 1921. 3.005 inches; July, 1922, 1.9 inches. Total rainfall to date, 32.25;>in. Pairore-TiraM (Mrs McKenzie): — Total fall, 3.iiin. on 12 days, the heaviest fall being .75iu., on the 2nd. The chief feature of 'the month's weather 'has been the keen night frosts that prevailed between the two wet periods, and continued up to the very end of the month.

To Aroha (Tourist Office) : —Total fall, 7.61 inches on 14 days, Uk> maximum being reached on 'the 15th, when 4.15 inches fell
