Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., rcnort: —To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market our supply of fat cattle totalled 591 head, comprising 75 steers, 212 cows and heifers, and 4 bulls. % The quality generally was first-class. Compclition was keen throughout. Last week's advance was " easily sustained, and in many cases exceeded. Extra choice ox sold to £1 10s per 1001 b; choice and prime ox, £1 7s to £1 9s: ordinary and plain ox," £1 -is to £1 6s Od; prime voung oow and heifer beef, £1 Is to i'l 6s; ordinary cow beef, ISs to £1; rough beef, 5s to 14s; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £l4 10s to £l6 16s; heavy prime steers £ll 15s to £l4 ss: lighter prime steers, £9 10s to £ll 10s; light prime steers, £7 to £9; unfinished and small, £4 10s to £6 15s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers );7 10s to £8 10s; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £0 5s to £7 7s Gd; lighter, £4 10s to £6; other cows, £1 7s Oil to £1 ss; bulls, £1 to £9 ss. Four extra prime 3 and 4-year-old steers from Mrs Scott, Mangere, averaged £l4 15s. Eight steers from Mr B. Heed, Wao-i-cnga. averaged £ls.
