DUPLICATING CABLL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Saturday. The cable steamer Stephen, an exGerman boat, arrived this morning. She dropped the end of the duplication of the Pacific cable 103 miles out in the gulf and takes more cable here. She will go out early next week and finish the job.

In the Supreme Court Arthur Tronson was sentenced to three years' imprisonment for obtaining money from women by false pretences.
