COMMISSION IN SOUTH.

Mr J.' Straughton sat yesterday as a commission in'connection with timber royalties. Tho Westland County Council placed the position fully before the Commission, being complimented by the chairman on a clear exposition of their attitude. The Commission will proceed to Greymouth on Wednesday.
