FORBIDDEN CITY SWEPT.
ANCIENT RECORDS DESTROYED. DOZENS OF BUILDINGS RAZED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assp. (Received June 28, 10.30 a.m.) PEKIN, June 27. A fire which ,1s believed to be the work of an incendiary swept the Forbidden Gity, destroying the ancient Imperial • Historical Hail, containing ancestral relics of all the Emperors. Dozens of the surrounding buildings were razed.
The records of the oldest dynasties have been destroyed.
