WORTHY OF SUPPORT.
Though as a rule not attended by any considerable amount of publicity, the labours of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children and the Prevention of Cruelly lo Animals have proved effective in carrying out much good work for the betterment of humanity, and to prevent ill-treatment of dumb animals used in the service of mankind. Up to the present local sympathisers with the institution referred lo have conducted their activities in co-operation with the Auckland branch of the Society, but it is now felt that the growth of Hamilton warrants the establishment of a branch at this centre. With this object, a meeting has been called for to-night at the Town Hall, where addresses will be given by Hon. George Fowlds, Dr A. C. Purchas. Rev. P. S. Smallfleld, Adjutaui Gordon of the Salvation Army, and Mrs Fry.
