LABOUR'S AMENDMENT. 58 VOTES TO 18. MR H. POLAND VOTES LABOUR. By Telegraph.—Special to Times. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Mr T. M. Wilford having explained that he could not support the Labour amendment aiming at the abolition of the Upper House, the Labour members called for a division at a-quarter past midnight. The amendment was lost by 58 votes to 18, Mr H. Poland (Liberal-Labour, Ohinemuri) voting with Labour.
