SUNSHINE LEAGUE.
OFFICIAL APPRECIATION. LETTER FROM DR. GOWER. The following letter has been received by the hon. secretary of the Hospital Patients’ Sunshine League from Dr. Gower, Medical Superintendent of Waikato Hospital: — “As the first year’s work of your League is now completed, may take the opportunity of congratulating you and thanking the League for the great assistance rendered to the Hospital generally. You have carried out almost everything you hoped to and the benefit to the patients has been incalculable. Probably the most successful of your undertakings has been the chiidren’s playground, which was entirely equipped by the League. The weekly motor trips have been much appreciated, also the gifts of easy chairs, children's wheel chairs, cushions, gramophone, croquet set, toy books and papers. The lady members have assisted very materially in making children's clothing and providing a very liberal supply of old linen. Although the provision of flowers for Upwards has not been as regular as you had hoped, I understand you have made suitable arrangements for the coming year. However, the large quantities sent have been very useful. In many other ways the League has proved very helpful, notably in providing relief in several necessitous cases. Altogether the amount ot good work done by your League in the first year of its existence has been remarkable, and has fully justified the formation of such an organisation.”.
