WESTFIELD MARKETS. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., rep.ort:—At our weekly Weslfleld fat stock market, we had a heavy yarding of beef, there being 694 head, comprising 479 steers, 211 cows and heifers, and four bulls. The demand was less keen and generally values were easier, although in odd cases last week’s values ruled. Extra choice ox sold to £1 4s per 1001 b; choice and prime, £1 Is Gd to £1 3s 6d; ordinary and plain, 18s to £1 Is; prime young cow and heifer beef, 19s to £1 2s; ordinary cow beef, 16s to 18s; rough beef, 7s to 12s Gd; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £lO 15s to £l2; heavy prime steers, £9 to £lO 10s; lighter prime steers, £7 5s to £8 17s 6d; light prime steers, £5 10s to £7 2s 6d; unfinished and small, £3 10s to £5 ss; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £5 10s to £7 ss; lighter, £3 15s to £5 ss; other cows, £1 10s to £3 10s; bulls, £2 to £4 15s. Choppers £2 5s to £3; heavy and medium baconers, £3 18s to £4 18s; light baconers and heavy porkers, £2 15s to £3 17s; medium and light porkers, £2 to £2 14s. Store pigs in average numbers sold readily at late rates.' Large stores £1 8s to £1 16s; slips, 18s to £1 Gs; weaners, 10s to 17s. Lambs penned in small numbers, also sold at improved values. Heavy and medium prime lambs £1 Gs to £1 9s; light and prime lambs, £1 Is to £1 5s 9d; store lambs, 12s to 20s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale of fat stock at Weslfleld • as under: — Beef: A large'yarding, and prices were easier than last week. We quote: Extra choice ox, 24s per 1001 b; choice and prime,' 19s to 225; ordinary and plain, 17s to 19s; prime young cow and heifer beef sold from 18s lo 21s; other, 13s to 18s. Sheep: A smaller yarding sold readily at late rates. Extra heavy wethers made up to 38s Gd; good wethers, 33s to 3Gs; others, 26s to 31s; best ewes made from 30s to 325; others, 24s to 295; unfinished, 18s to 22s Gd. Calves: A fair yarding, prices being easier than last week. Runners made up to £4 10s; heavy vealers, £2 5s to £3 10s; medium vealers, £2 to £2 ss; others, 35s to £2; fresh-dropped, Gs to 10s. Pigs: A good yarding. Prices were about the same as last week. Choppers made from £3 to £4; heavy baconers, £4 to £4 15s; medium baconers, £3 5s to £3 15s; heavy porkers, £2 10s to £3; lighter, £2 to £2 10s. Lambs: A small yarding sold at late rates. Best lambs, 24s to 275; good lambs, 21s to 235; unfinished, 18s to 20s Gd.
