MARLBOROUGH FLOODS.

MISAPPREHENSIONS REMOVED. ALARMIST REPORTS RESENTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. BLENHEIM, Thursday. At a meeting of the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce last evening it was reported that there was much misunderstanding all over the Dominion as to the effect on productiveness of the province of the recent floods. After some discussion, the following resolution was carried: “That this chamber strongly deprecates the alarmist reports circulated throughout New Zealand regarding the recent floods in Marlborough, and wishes to point out that only a comparatively small area was affected, and that the districts so affected are already showing wonderful recuperative powers. The flood has had little or no effect on the farming and agricultural industries of the province, and except for a very limited area around Spring Creek it is now difficult to realise that there had been a flood.
