RUGBY FOOTBALL.

REPRESENTATIVE GABIES, FRANKLIN AND WAIPA. Two representative games, in which Hamilton teams will be concerned, will be decided on Saturday. The first team will play Franklin at Steele Park, and the other travel to Te Awamutu, where they will meet Waipa. Some alteration has been made in the teams. Cranston and Smith ' are not available for Te Awamutu, and their places will be taken by Tau Hopa and Keeley. Castles will caplain this team. In the team to meet Franklin, Barford has to stand down owing to an injured shoulder, and Arns takes his place. Ewan is the emergency back, and Baldwin the forward. Peach will captain the team. At the annual meeting of the management committee of the Hamilton Rugby Union Mr A. S. Cliffe presided. The secretary was instructed to write to all clubs, pointing out that each team must be responsible to see that a ball is provided for the match. In the event of both teams taking the field without a ball the referee will have the power to declare the match off. , J The application of Old Boys Club for the re-grading of C. Johnson from senior to junior grade was granted. Application from Marists Club for registration of T. Popplewell for the senior grade was granted. A letter in regard to a claim for insurance under last year’s scheme was deferred for further consideration until the end of the season, the Union already having declined to admit any liability. An application from the- Walkarl Union for a rep. match at Te Kau-’ yvhata was declined on account of the Union’s travelling programme being full, but the Union would be very pleased to arrange a match to be ■played at Hamilton. , Mr Morris was appointed manager of the B rep team to Te Awamutu on Saturday.

The game resolved . itself Into a trial of strength between the Wanganui forwards and Te Aute backs, and ended Te Aute ,13; Wanganui, 5. The junior game was also won by Te Aute, 22 to 3.
