BOWLING.

BREACHES OF RULES.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Tuesday.

At a meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre considerable attention was given to breaches of the rules. Instances were given where the rules had been frequently broken. At the champion tournament in Auckland, at the instance of the principal umpire, a recommendation was made to the Dominion Council, not without opposition, that the toe line should be painted on the mats. It was stated that many players delivered their bowls without a foot on the mat. The practice of following the bowls up was also denounced, and. it was said that as much as forty minutes were added to the length of a game through this. The Council was recommended to declare such bowls " dead."
