EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
THE AUCKLAND TEST* END NOW IN SIGHT. 'BLACK, ORPINGTON LEADS. The forty-seventh week of the Auckland Poultrykeepers' Association's fourth single-pen and team egg-laying competition being conducted at Mt. Albert, ended on Monday. The results in the weights of teams' eggs are not quite ready for publication. It is understood, however, there will be no alteration in those leading teams of fowls which failed In the first weighing, but the one team of ducks belonging to R. G. Martin that failed by a fraction to go the weight pulled up the leeway in the final weighing and now qualified for prize-money. In the individuals R. B. Cruickshank's No. 2 Black Orpington leads with 286. In the duck section S. 11. Scott's No. 2 Runner duck leads with 255. In the light breed section, T. F.. Box's No. 3 White Leghorn leads with 257 eggs. The following are the leading teams to date, the first three sets of figures being the individual totals, the figures in parentheses the week's total of the three birds combined, and the .last figures the team total:— LIGHT BREEDS.
