CAMBRIDGE SHOW.
“PEOPLE’S DAY.”
BIG CROWD ATTENDS. People’s Day at the Waikato Central Show, at Cambridge yesterday, was a big success. The. weather was flue, the crowd large, and the entertainment, which consisted almost entirely of the equestrian events, good. Excellent horsemanship and horse.womanship were witnessed, and some ■'of the finest hunting stock of the province was seen in action. The general show arrangements were all that could be desired, for while the committee perhaps lack “boosling” characteristics, they certainly know’ something about stock and about running the show proper, and the complaints by exhibitors, if any, were few. ; There were any number of side-shows present, which helped to entertain those not closely interested in stock, and the public, which does not alter in some-respects through Iho process of years, was just as ready to be “taken down” as ever. The president of the Association this year is Mr J. S. Fisher, whoso great capacity as a worker is well known, and he left no stone unturned to give both exhibitors and the public satisfaction. His happy sonality also counts for a good deal, for he is always a pleasant man . to meet, and is the right type to be at the head of a public organisation such as this'.
