SHAREMILKER’S DISPUTE
CASE AT CAMBRIDGE. A case of interest to dairy farmers and sharemilkers was heard at Cambridge on Thursday, by Mr H. A. / Young, S.M. Thomas Whyte, for whom Mr D. J. Lundon (Cambridge) appealed, claimed from John William Peake, who was represented by Mr E. H. Northcroft (Hanilton), £43 13s, balance of money allegedly'due on share-milking account, share of pigs, and for work done. I The defendant counterclaimed for £3O 17s 7d, being £2O alleged to be owing for hire of the milking machine, and the balance for loss on pigs, loss of implements and money spent on labour cleaning up the yard after Whyte’s engagement ended.
Defendant contended that he was entitled to deduct from the sharemilker’s remuneration one-third of deductions made by the dairy company in respect to share capital. After a- lengthy hearing judgment was given for plaintiff on the claim for £39 4s 9d, with costs £7 13s, and for defendant on counter-claim fpr £3 16s 3d and costs £1 16s.
