Sir Lees Knowles, in a new book, tells some good stories, including one about some candidates for naval cadetships who appeared, beforp the Board of Examiners to answer questions to test their general knowledge. On one occasion the following dialogue ensued: —Admiral: ‘How did you come here, my boy?” Candidate: “In a taxi, sir." Admiral: “And what was the number of the taxi?” Candidate: “3548, sir." Admiral: “Good, you’ll do.” That evening the Admiral told the story to a friend, who said, “What a very observant lad, but how did you know he was telling the truth ” “Truth be blowed!”. said the Admiral. “It was devilish smart of the boy to give me any number without the slightest hesitation,” Hoarseness, sore Throats, and chest Iroubles are promptly relieved by Nazol. 4
