SEEK NEGRO AFTER KILLING.

The police of the Coney Island station sent out an alarm for George Browfc, 40, a giant negro janitor of a rooming house at West Thirteenth street, Coney,lsland, whose wife, from whom- he was separated, was found brutally murdered,- apparently with an axe, in a blanket in the basement ol 1 the Thirteenth street address. The woman’s head had been split nearly in two. Mrs Brown lived at Mermaid avenue with three daughters and two sons. (Elizabeth,’ one of' the daughters, told detectives that her father had called on her'mother at 11 o’clock at bight intoxicated and displaying a quart bottle of whisky. “I want you to take a walk with me over t-o my place or I’ll kill you,” the janitor was quoted by the girl as saying to his wife. The mother went with Brown and later returned home, saying that after drinking considerably Brown had gone to sleep. \ , At 3 o’clock Hie next morning detectives learned Brown again called on liis wife to return with him and smashed a window. Mrs Brown went again and did, hot return. At 7 o’clock the following morning they went to their fatljer’s home and found that he had gone, taking all his clothing. The police were; notified. In the basement' they found an axe, human hair and the woman’s body.
