EXPERIMENT IN MESOPOTAMIA.

NEW' NAVAL AIRCRAFT. POWERFUL MACHINES. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, Sept. 12. The Royal Air Force will take oyer at the end of the month sole maintenance of order in Mesopotamia, using at the outset eight squadrons of troopcarrying aeroplanes. The experiment, if successful, will effect a saving of four-fifths of the present expenditure.

The Air Ministry is testing new naval aircraft of secret design, including v a three-seater aeroplane for coastal defence, and equipped with four machine guns for aerial fighting. It is capable of a range of 1000 miles when loaded with bombs and torpedoes for attacking warships.
