HAMILTON STOCK SALE .

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Go., Ltd, Hamilton, report: At Hamilton on Tuesday very few sheep came forward, not sufficient to fill requirements. Fair quality mixed sheep made to 28s. The beef entry consisted mainly of cows, including some heavy prime fat cattle. Extra heavy cows sold to £7 ss; good fat cows £4 10s to £5 10s; klllable cows, £3 to £4 ss; light fat steers, £5 5s to £7 15s. The advertised three and four-year steers created good competition, selling at £3 14s to £4 15s; store cows, £1 4s to £2 15s; empty heifers, £3 7s 6d. Fat pigs-were dull of sale, particularly baconers, medium weights making up to £2. Porkers sold better in comparison, making £i 8s to £1 13s, while well-done store pigs made nearly as much as the. lighter porkers, a line by rail selling from £l 3s Od to £1 0s; wcuncrs, 9s Lo 12s. There was a large entry of dairys, mostly poor quality heifers. For any good sorts buyers competed freely, best Heifers close to profit making £lO to £l2 10s; good beil'ers, £7 to £9 10s; backward and smaller, £5 10s to £7 ss; poor arid weedy, £3 to £5; dairy cows, up lo £B.

We quote: Prime heavy and medium fat cows £6 18s to £8 13s, good cows £4 13s lo £6 os, light cows £2 17s 0d to £4, forward steers £5. store cows £1 2s lo £1 10s, 18-months empty heifers £3 ■is, fat ewes £1 7s, forward hoggets 19s Id. Pigs: A fair yarding of pigs came forward: compelition was dull on hiil.li fat and store pigs. Prices realised were: Fat pigs £L 19s to £2 ss, porkers £1 lls lo £1 ISs, light porkers £t 6s lo £1 10s, slips 10s lo £1 3s, good weaners 8s to 13.5, others 4s to 7s Gil. Dairy cows: Good cows close to profit realised £lO lo £l4 10s, backward £4 10s lo £7 10s. cull cows £1 15s lo £3 3s, good heifers close to profit £7 lo £9 15s, backward heifers £4 to £6 :10s.
