ROTORUA CHAMPIONSHIP. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) ROTORUA, Wednesday. The Rotorua championship goif meeting opened to-day, when there were about 50 competitors. Most of the top-notchers were absent, but still the contests were very good. The weather was fine. In the first round in, the championship G. Hawkins beat Dingle 4—3; Mabin beat Burrows, 1 up; Wilkie beat Hill, 4—3; Bliss beat Hankin, 5—4; Dr. Hocken beat Jounneaux, 1 up; J. Hocken beat Calvert, 4 and 3; Tuck beat Banks 2 up. In the second round of the championship wins were gained by Tuck, Hawkins, Bliss and Dr. Hocken. The medal round was divided between Tattersall and Teape. \ The bogey match was wan by Kusabs (six up), willi Hankins (Uvo up) and Burrows (ail square) second and third. WANGANUI TOURNAMENT. WANGANUI, Thursday. Glorious weather prevailed for the second day of the Wanganui Golf Club’s championship meeting. Some fine golf was witnessed in the first and second rounds of the clubs’ amateur championship. The scores in the professional match were: Brooks and Ham 159, Clements and Shaw 161, "Moss 162, Blair 165.
