BODY FOUND, IN RIVER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. GISBORNE, Monday. The body of Frederick Steam, who had been missing since July 29, was found in the Waipaoa River at Ormond. BOYS DROWNED IN LAkE. HASTINGS, Monday. The bodies of the boys, Thomas and Colin Lyons, aged 14 and 12 years respectively, sons of Joseph Lyons, were found In Te Hauke Lake, the former on Friday and the latter yesterday. The boys were boating on the lake on August 13, and a persistent search had been made since. At the inquest a verdict of found drowned was returned. COLLISION WITH A TRAM. WANGANUI, Monday. A collision occurred at the intersection of the Avenue and Dublin Street yesterd.ay between a tram car and a motor ear driven by the Mayor, Mr T. B. Williams, who had with him Mr and Mrs Kirkcr, of Wellington. The impact was severe. The Mayor and Mr Kirker escaped without injury, but Mrs Kirker sustained a broken collar--bone. A LAUNCH SWAMPED. WAIROA (H. 8.), Monday. Two men, named Milner and Pike, had a narrow escape from, drowning this afternoon. When attempting to cross the Wairoa Bar, a heavy sea roller struck their fishing launch, and before it could right itself another capsized the boat. The men were washed off twice and rescued in an exhausted condilion by Maoris, who had been gathering beach wood.. The damaged launch was washed up at high tide.
