The Berlin correspondent of the? Daily Telegraph reports that Marshal von Hindenburg, who is rapidly becoming the rallying point for reaction, was the central figure of a magnificent Monarchist corroboree in Munich yesterday. The town was richly beilagged, but only with the Bavarian and old Imperial colours. Many generals and ex-princes were present in old full dress uniforms, including the ex-Crown Prince Rupprecht, the camouflaged King of Bavaria. Students and members of Old Soldiers' Associations attended in full force.
BERLIN, August 22
Speaking at the Hindenburg welcome at Munich, General Bothmer congratulated him on holding out to the last when perfidious treason overthrew the unbeaten army in the fields The Marshal replied briefly, ex* horling his hearers to do their duty. The Imperial Government previouslymade representations to Bavaria, forbidding Hie Reichswehr to participate in the demonstrations, and the latter did not go beyond vocal flagwagging on Ihc stage.
. There were no untoward incidents except the correspondent of a radical newspaper was mishandled, being rescued by the police.
