Mr H. Moore-Jones, of Auckland, is spending a few days with Dr and Mrs Rodsers.
,At the half-yearly of tho Bank of New* Zealand, the chairman, Mr H. Beauchamp, announced that, with the object of making an inspection of the bank's London office, Mr Qibbs, the. chief auditor, will leave for London in February next, and during his absence Mr R. A. Holmes will act as his locum tcnens.
Miss Kathleen J. McLeod, assistant teacher of the Hamilton East School, _who is leaving the service of the Education Department to be married, was yesterday afternoon entertained at afternoon lea by the members of the staff. Mr F. H. Brown, the head teacher, in presenting Miss McLeod with a very beautiful Doulton tea service, spoke in eulogistic terms of the work she- had done during her twoyears at the school, and wished her every possible happiness in her ried life. Her health was drunk with musical honours. Miss McLeod thanked the staff for their much appreciated gift, and for the kindness and consideration extended to her during her stay in the school.
